Location of Kalimati Clinic
About Kalimati Clinic
Kalimati Clinic was established in 2002 in collaboration between American
and Nepalese medics. It is located around 150 kilometers west of Kathmandu
in Kalimati, Tanahun, Gandaki Zone, Nepal.
This is an out-patient clinic with its own 7 room building, constructed
with the help of local people and ongoing financial input and fund raising
from the founder, Dr Arjun Pant. Initially, the clinic was staffed by one
doctor, two paramedics and an office assistant. Now the clinic is run as a
charity and provides general medical aid for the local population (50 to
60,000 people) but is staffed by only one paramedic and one office
assistant. The clinic is well attended by the local population, and
around 10-12 patients come to the clinic daily for treatment for
diarrhoea, dysentry, fever, scabies, helmianthiasis, simple pneumonia,
acute peptic disease, intestional colic and for wound management.
Initially, the clinic offered free vaccinations but in the current
financial circumstances, this can no longer be sustained. Please visit
About Us page for more details.
