A common misperception is that the there’s not enough food to feed the world’s 1+ billion who go hungry every day. Another lie is that the population growth is too high to feed so many people. The truth is there’s more than enough food to feedeveryone. In fact, the majority of the world’s food supply doesn’t even go to people but to fatten farm animals raised for meat.  This is also why food prices have risen – food that could be sold to people is in shortage because it’s instead eaten by cows, pigs, chickens, fish, and other livestock.

An online meeting of the ANMA executive members was held on January 15, 2011. There were 13 members present. Various concurrent topics were discussed. The main highlights and resolution of the meetings are below.

Recruiting ANMA life members for effective reach-out and financial strength. Life member fee is $250. Eleven people in the meeting committed to become ANMA life members and decided to approach other friends. Executive members were assigned as regional coordinators to contact, coordinate and participate in different Nepalese social and other organization in ANMA region.

Nepali American Center (NAC) is actively reaching out to community members and leaders to facilitate various activities and to raise the fund for a physical facility in the Chicagoland.  The Center has come with plans and tentative timelines for following events and initiatives:
