From Bhutan to the US

A first group of Bhutanese refugees camped in Nepal is settling in the US as part of what the UN has described as one of the largest resettlement programmes in the world. America has agreed to take in 60,000 of the Bhutanese. Few Bhutanese refugees has already arrived New York and imagine, from a camp in Nepal to New York, cultural shock doesn't even begin to describe it.. (more)

Social Service Activities - Jacket Drive ( Oct '08 )

For those of us who have been through a Chicago Winter, we know that the cold is coming with a vengeance! To help our fellowmen to survive this winter, I request all of you to check with your friends, family, neighbor or any other interested parties to collect winter clothing (Jacket, sweater, gloves, etc).  Our plan is to collect these items and distribute by the mid to end of this month. Some of us could even donate winter items purchased from stores like the Salvation Army, Goodwill etc. (more)
